Gorganzola Piccante DOP

Robust Gorgonzola Piccante (Mountain Gorgonzola) is one of Italy’s most famous blue cheeses. It is aged for 3 months and develops an assertive aroma, intense, sharp flavor, and crumbly texture. Its ivory paste is marbled with liberal blue veining. The Leonardi family of IGOR has been making Gorgonzola in Novara for three generations and has won numerous international awards over the years. While staying true to the traditions behind this important cheese, they have also incorporated modern production techniques. The cheese stands up in creamy sauces or crumbled into salads. It also pairs with dark, rich honeys on a cheese plate.
